Job summary

Guardian Selection Limited in Manchester is seeking a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to support EYFS and KS1 from September. You will work with individuals and groups, deliver phonics, and help children build strong foundations across prime learning areas.

The role requires Level 3 TA qualification (or equivalent) and experience in EYFS/KS1, with excellent communication and teamwork. A DBS check and two references are required.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent experience — Experience-Based Route welcome to apply)
• Experience working within EYFS and/or KS1 essential
• Confident delivering phonics and supporting early reading and communication
• A reflective practitioner, committed to teamwork and continuous improvement
• Sound understanding of EYFS routines, continuous provision and child development
• Excellent communication skills with children, staff and parents

Responsibilities

• Work with individuals and small groups, including children on the SEN register, to maximise access to learning within continuous provision, indoors and outdoors
• Deliver phonics in small groups under the direction of the class teacher and English Lead, reviewing and adjusting as needed
• Support communication and language and personal, social and emotional development (PSED) throughout the school day
• Provide high-quality interactions during continuous provision that extend children's vocabulary
• Support individual learning programmes for named children under the direction of the EYFS Lead and class teacher
• Observe and monitor pupil progress, feeding back to the class teacher and maintaining accurate records
• Assist with supervision outside the classroom, including educational visits
• Provide personal care where required, in line with school policy
