Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a Level 2 Teaching Assistant for a primary SEMH school in Shenstone. The role is full-time, long-term with potential for permanent placement, supporting pupils with SEMH needs, ASC, and communication challenges.

You will work within bespoke behaviour, support and risk management plans, bringing a calm, resilient, and confident approach to day-to-day classroom support.

Qualifications

• A Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant equivalent.
• Experience supporting primary-aged pupils with SEMH and behaviours that challenge.
• Experience supporting pupils with ASC and communication and interaction difficulties.
• Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice, ACEs and attachment theory.
• Good curriculum knowledge and understanding of how sensory, social and emotional needs affect engagement and behaviour.
• Calm, resilient and confident approach to supporting pupils.

Responsibilities

• Support primary-aged pupils with SEMH needs, including ASC and communication difficulties, within bespoke behaviour, support and risk management plans.
• Follow and contribute to trauma-informed strategies and attachment-based approaches.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to implement individual plans and classroom routines.
