Job summary

Kingsmead Academy Sports Centre is seeking a casual, zero-hours Leisure Attendant to join the Cabot Learning Federation's Leisure and Lettings Team. You will help set up and store equipment, supervise hirers and visitors, undertake routine facility checks and assist with cleaning and basic maintenance.

This role involves lone working once trained, handling customer queries professionally, keeping accurate records and ensuring safeguarding and safety policies are followed.

Qualifications

• Good awareness of health and safety, security and safeguarding.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with users.
• Remain calm, professional and non-judgemental with concerns, incidents or complaints.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision and follow procedures.
• Practical skills for cleaning, equipment handling and basic maintenance.
• Use of initiative and sound decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Set up, dismantle and store sports and event equipment safely.
• Supervise hirers, clubs and visitors to ensure safe, appropriate use of facilities.
• Carry out routine facility and equipment checks.
• Undertake general cleaning, including changing rooms, toilets, sports areas and external spaces.
• Perform basic maintenance and minor repairs to sports equipment.
• Provide a professional, friendly service, responding to queries, concerns and complaints.
• Support site security, including opening and closing the facility and acting as key holder.
• Maintain accurate records and complete relevant documentation.
• Promote positive behaviour and respond calmly to incidents or challenging situations.
• Adhere to safeguarding, health and safety, equality and data protection requirements.
• Work independently, including lone working once fully trained.
