Job summary

Burges Salmon LLP is seeking a Legal Innovation Business Partner to join our Innovation Team. This hands-on role focuses on legal technology, automation and AI-enabled solutions to improve how we deliver legal services.

You’ll work at the intersection of law, technology and service delivery, shaping requirements, prototyping tools and guiding pilots through to firm-wide adoption with stakeholders across the business.

Qualifications

  • A degree (or equivalent experience) in IT, Computer Science, Technology, Business, law, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in legal technology, innovation, operations, or process automation.
  • Ability to translate user needs into practical technical options.
  • Strong communication skills bridging technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities to improve legal and business processes through technology, automation and data-driven solutions
  • Map legal workflows, gather requirements and translate user needs into designs
  • Prototype, configure and support legal technology solutions, including AI-enabled tools and automation
  • Lead pilots and proof-of-concepts, with testing and firmwide rollout
  • Collaborate with IT, Legal Project Management, Technology Solutions and Online Services to embed new tools
  • Partner with external vendors to assess functionality and fit
  • Develop adoption guidance with L&D and Change teams
  • Monitor usage and evidence value through case studies and data
  • Stay up to date with advances in legal tech and AI
