Legal Support Assistant

Private Client Team – Thatcham

Full-Time | Permanent

Our client, a well-established and reputable law firm, is seeking a professional and highly organised Legal Support Assistant to join their Private Client team at their Thatcham office. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity offering the chance to work within a supportive legal environment, assisting lawyers with a varied caseload and delivering key administrative support.

Tasks

The Role

The successful candidate will play an integral part in supporting the Private Client team.

  • Opening and closing client files in line with firm procedures
  • Maintaining up-to-date and accurate client records and document management systems
  • Typing and formatting legal documents including Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Trusts, and Probate applications
  • Drafting routine correspondence on behalf of fee earners
  • Amending and proofreading legal documents with a high level of accuracy
  • Managing diaries, scheduling appointments, and coordinating meetings
  • Monitoring fee earners’ emails and responding to administrative matters where appropriate
  • Ensuring compliance with anti-money laundering and client onboarding procedures
  • Assisting with billing processes, including preparing draft bills and keeping financial records
  • Providing general support to fee earners and other team members to ensure smooth day-to-day operations

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in an administrative role within a legal environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational abilities with the confidence to manage multiple priorities
  • A collaborative and professional approach, with the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues and clients alike
