Job description

Legal Receptionist / Legal Administrator
Aberdare | Office-based | Full-time

Looking to build a career in law but want to get your foot in the door with the right firm?

We're working with a lovely, close-knit law firm in Aberdare that is looking to welcome a Legal Receptionist / Administrator into its team.

This is a great opportunity for someone with previous reception, legal administration or conveyancing experience who enjoys working with people, keeping things organised and being part of a supportive team.

The role will be varied, giving you exposure to the day-to-day running of a busy legal practice. You'll be one of the first points of contact for clients, while also supporting the wider team with administrative duties and helping ensure matters run smoothly behind the scenes.

For someone looking to develop their experience within the legal sector, this could be a fantastic stepping stone. You'll gain valuable insight into how a law firm operates, work alongside experienced legal professionals and have the opportunity to broaden your knowledge over time.

What will you be doing?

No two days are likely to look exactly the same, but your responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as the first point of contact for clients, visitors and callers, providing a warm and professional welcome.
  • Answering telephone calls, responding to general enquiries and directing queries to the appropriate team members.
  • Supporting the team with general legal administration and day-to-day office tasks.
  • Assisting with the opening and organisation of client files and maintaining accurate records.
  • Providing administrative support to the conveyancing team, including helping with documentation and correspondence.
  • Liaising with clients, solicitors, estate agents and other third parties where required.
  • Organising appointments, managing diaries and helping keep the office running efficiently.
  • Scanning, filing and maintaining electronic and paper-based documents.
  • Supporting colleagues across the practice as priorities change throughout the day.
What are we looking for?

We're keen to speak to candidates who are organised, approachable and genuinely interested in developing a career within law.

You may already have experience in a legal reception or administration role, or perhaps you've had some exposure to residential conveyancing and are looking for an opportunity to build on it.

You’ll ideally bring:

  • Previous experience in reception, administration or a legal environment.
  • Some exposure to conveyancing or working within a law firm.
  • Confident communication skills and a friendly, professional telephone manner.
  • Strong organisational skills and good attention to detail.
  • A reliable, proactive approach and a willingness to learn.
  • The ability to manage a varied workload and support colleagues when needed.
  • A positive, team-focused attitude and a genuine interest in the legal sector.

This role could suit someone at the beginning of their legal career who wants to gain practical experience and learn from an established team.

Why consider this opportunity?
  • Build on your existing administrative or conveyancing exposure and gain valuable experience within a legal practice.
  • Join a welcoming firm where working collaboratively and supporting colleagues is part of the day-to-day environment.
  • Develop a broad understanding of legal administration, client service and the processes involved in running a busy law firm.
  • Work alongside experienced legal professionals and build your confidence, knowledge and skills over time.
  • A fully office-based opportunity for someone looking to work locally and become part of the team.

Interested?

This could be an ideal opportunity for someone who wants to get established in the legal sector, develop their skills and find a role where they can become a valued member of a friendly team.
