A non-departmental public body seeks an experienced Legal Manager for a 12-month maternity cover contract. The successful candidate will manage a team, oversee compliance, and handle complex legal projects while building relationships with various stakeholders. An opportunity for an experienced Solicitor to join a non-departmental public body (NDPB) which funds projects and activities that transform communities. This is a 12-month fixed-term maternity cover contract for the role of Legal Manager.
As the Legal Manager, you will report to the Head of Legal Services and be responsible for managing a team of 5 individuals. Your responsibilities include overseeing compliance processes, legal policies, legal projects, procurement, and risk strategies. You will focus on legal projects with higher value, risk, and complexity, as well as building relationships with leaders across the organization and external stakeholders, including Government and other NDPBs.
Candidates must be a UK qualified solicitor, barrister, or equivalent with at least seven years of relevant experience. Previous experience managing a team, excellent commercial acumen, and negotiation skills are essential. Experience working for a similar public body or within the public sector is highly desirable.
