A leading public body in the UK is seeking an experienced Legal Manager for a fixed-term 12-month maternity cover contract. This role involves managing a team, ensuring compliance, and undertaking high-stakes legal projects in a hybrid working environment. Candidates must be UK-qualified solicitors or barristers with significant public sector experience.
An opportunity for an experienced Solicitor to join a non-departmental public body (NDPB) which funds projects and activities that transform communities. This is a 12-month fixed-term maternity cover contract for the role of Legal Manager.
As the Legal Manager, you’ll report to the Head of Legal Services and will be responsible for managing a team of 5 individuals. Your responsibilities include overseeing compliance processes, legal policies, legal projects, procurement, and risk strategies. You will focus on legal projects with higher value, risk, and complexity, and build relationships with leaders across the organization and external stakeholders including government entities and other NDPBs.
To be considered, you must be a UK-qualified solicitor, barrister, or equivalent with at least seven years of relevant experience. Previous experience managing a team, along with excellent commercial acumen and negotiation skills, is required. Experience working for a similar public body or within the public sector is highly desirable.
