A leading public body in the UK is seeking an experienced Legal Manager for a 12-month fixed-term maternity cover contract. The successful candidate will oversee compliance, legal policies, and manage a team, requiring significant experience as a UK-qualified solicitor. A hybrid working policy is offered, alongside a competitive salary and generous holiday allowance.
An opportunity for an experienced Solicitor to join a non-departmental public body (NDPB) which funds projects and activities that transform communities. This is a 12-month fixed-term maternity cover contract for the role of Legal Manager.
As the Legal Manager, you’ll report to the Head of Legal Services and will be responsible for managing a team of 5 individuals. Your responsibilities include overseeing compliance processes, legal policies, legal projects, procurement, and risk strategies. You will focus on legal projects with higher value, risk, and complexity, as well as building relationships with leaders across the organisation and external stakeholders, including Government and other NDPBs.
Requirements for consideration include being a UK-qualified solicitor, barrister, or equivalent with at least seven years of relevant experience. Previous experience managing a team, excellent commercial acumen, and negotiation skills are essential. Experience working for a similar public body or within the public sector is highly desirable.
Successful candidates will receive a competitive salary, a generous holiday allowance, and a civil service pension scheme. The organisation offers a hybrid working policy, with a few days a month in the office.
