Job summary

White & Case LLP is seeking a Legal Knowledge Engineer to drive value from the firm’s knowledge systems. The role blends building metadata and governing AI assets with translating lawyer needs into actionable system changes.

Expect collaboration with PSLs and Knowledge Lawyers to scale governance and automation. The successful candidate will work hands-on with taxonomies and AI tooling, while engaging lawyers to understand how knowledge is created, stored and utilized across practices.

Qualifications

Background in knowledge or legal experience with technical fluency.
Ability to work with structured knowledge: taxonomies, metadata, classification.
Practical fluency with current AI tooling, prompts and reusable instructions.
Ability to work credibly with lawyers to understand their needs.

Responsibilities

Develop and govern knowledge classification and metadata strategies.
Engage with lawyers and PSLs to capture requirements for knowledge systems.
Partner with Practice Solutions to integrate knowledge into tools and workflows.
Govern AI assets, prompts, workflows and skills, ensuring portability.
Onboard teams to knowledge systems and promote a knowledge‑sharing culture.
Monitor usage metrics and work with change management to land onboarding.
