Job summary

Oculus Legal Group is seeking a Legal Director to lead its Real Estate Litigation team in Birmingham. The role focuses on complex, high-value commercial property disputes and strategic dispute resolution.

You will manage a varied caseload, supervise junior lawyers, and work with clients to deliver clear, practical advice while supporting growth of the practice and cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Manage a complex caseload of commercial property disputes including lease renewals, restrictive covenants, dilapidations and possession proceedings.
• Provide clear, practical legal advice to clients and contribute to strategy on disputes.
• Supervise and mentor junior lawyers; develop the Real Estate Litigation practice; build client relationships; support new business development.

I’m currently working with a Top 30 international law firm that is looking to appoint a Legal Director to join its award-winning Real Estate Litigation team in Birmingham.

This is an exciting opportunity for a senior Real Estate Litigation lawyer to join a highly regarded national practice, working alongside the wider Real Estate team and taking a leading role on complex, high-value commercial property disputes.

The role offers excellent exposure to high-quality work, sophisticated clients and the opportunity to contribute to the continued growth of an established and successful team.

The Role

You’ll manage a complex and varied caseload of commercial property disputes, including:

• Opposed and unopposed lease renewals
• Restrictive covenants
• Break options
• Dilapidations
• Rights of way
• Boundary disputes
• Trespass and nuisance
• Possession proceedings
• Insolvency-related property disputes
• Advising clients on strategic and commercially focused dispute resolution

You will also:

• Work closely with clients to provide clear, practical and commercially focused legal advice
• Play an active role in the continued growth and development of the Real Estate Litigation practice
• Supervise and mentor junior lawyers
• Build and maintain strong client relationships
• Support new business development and growth across existing and prospective clients
• Work closely with the transactional Real Estate team and wider national practice

The Package

Salary: Up to £112,000

Bonus: Up to 20%
