Field Seymour Parkes is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join our Finance team on a 6-month fixed-term contract from Reading. The role focuses on managing a portfolio of debtors, proactive chasing of payments, and collaboration with fee earners to optimise cash flow.

Ideal candidates will have solid credit control experience, strong communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to handle a busy workload with accuracy and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Credit Control role.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Confident telephone manner with the ability to handle sensitive conversations professionally.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage a busy workload and prioritise effectively.
• Experience working within a professional services or legal environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
• A positive, team-oriented approach and willingness to support colleagues.

Responsabilités

• Managing a portfolio of outstanding debtors and proactively chasing payments via telephone and email.
• Building effective relationships with clients to secure payment and resolve outstanding balances.
• Working closely with fee earners to review and manage client debt positions.
• Identifying problem debts and escalating issues where appropriate.
• Monitoring payment plans and deferred payment arrangements.
• Handling incoming client queries relating to outstanding accounts.
• Processing card payments over the telephone.
• Maintaining accurate records and ensuring collection activities are up to date.
• Supporting the wider Finance team with ad hoc credit control duties as required.
