The Opportunity
We're seeking a Commercial Counsel who thrives in an agile, busy and varied environment, where you'll own and negotiate a range of commercial contracts. Critical to this role will be your ability to collaborate closely with our Go To Market sales team, providing them with crucial contract support, training, and enablement whilst also exploring diverse projects/ fielding queries across the Finance, People, Marketing, Delivery, Tech, and Learning teams.

Specifically, you will:
Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts (e.g., MSAs, supplier T&Cs, NDAs, consultancy and RFPs/Bids, data sharing agreements and public procurement framework agreements)
Partner with the Privacy team to ensure data protection compliance across products and commercial agreements
Stay ahead of emerging AI regulations and advise on compliant frameworks for AI-driven initiatives
Join customer calls to negotiate contracts and confidently address legal queries
Review AI-related contractual provisions, including IP, liability, and ethical use considerations
Conduct legal risk assessments and proactively identify and mitigate business risks
Support the development of data governance policies that align privacy and commercial goals
Provide cross-functional legal support (e.g., to Finance, People, Marketing, Tech, and Delivery teams)
Contribute to internal legal resources, including playbooks and team training
Help establish agile, tech-enabled legal processes and scalable procedures
About you:
Ideally, c. 3-5 years PQE qualified as a UK lawyer
Exposure to working in-house (by secondment or otherwise).
Strong GDPR, data and privacy acumen.
Experience working with end-to-end B2B commercial contracts for customers and suppliers.
Be able to effectively consume and communicate information both to internal and external stakeholders.
Strong business vs risk acumen, i.e possesses a solid understanding for when the business needs a quick reply, as opposed to an extensive deep dive for an exhaustive answer.
Have the ability to judge when to escalate or/and get a second opinion.
Have good organisational skills and are able to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a strong work ethic.
Thrive in an agile, fast-paced, commercial-oriented, hands-on environment.
Are curious, open, and love asking questions/ solving problems.
Be a strong team player and display a “can-do” approach; no job is too big or too small.
Thorough, methodical, professional and committed to the Multiverse values.
Desirable but not essential:
Training and qualification from a top-tier law firm and/or in-house team is highly desirable.
Experience working on data protection/privacy-related matters.
