Your Purpose

As a Commercial Legal Counsel at Molson Coors, you will provide comprehensive legal support across various commercial matters. The role involves drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements, advising on legal risks, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The solicitor will work closely with different business units to support their commercial objectives and mitigate legal risks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including supply agreements, service contracts, and framework agreements; provide legal advice on contract terms and conditions to ensure alignment with business objectives and legal requirements, and manage contract disputes and negotiate settlements when necessary.
  • Advise on a broad range of commercial legal matters, including intellectual property, data protection, and compliance with regional laws, ensuring that all legal aspects are thoroughly covered.
  • Identify and manage legal risks by providing practical and commercially focused solutions that help mitigate potential issues and support business operations.
  • Support the procurement team on vendor contracts, tender processes, and supplier disputes, ensuring that all procurement activities are legally sound and effectively managed.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, maintain internal policies and procedures, and assist in delivering legal and compliance training to various business units to enhance their understanding and adherence to legal requirements.
  • Implement and improve precedent agreements, such as risk matrices and guidelines, as well as template agreements and clauses, and provide training to support the OPS Team, focusing on continual improvement to ensure templates remain fit for purpose.

About You

  • Qualified Solicitor with post-qualification experience, holding a current UK practising certificate; skilled in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
  • Strong commercial acumen with excellent communication and advocacy skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage demanding clients, meet tight deadlines, and thrive in fast-paced environments with creativity and effective problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to operate and influence effectively across different stakeholder levels, demonstrating flexibility of style and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and in teams, and capable of acquiring and maintaining business knowledge to contribute to strategy.
