Job summary

IPS Group Limited is seeking a Ledger Supervisor to lead a small team and manage key finance operations in Middleton. The role combines people leadership with hands-on ledger responsibilities, ensuring strong controls and timely reporting.

You will oversee purchase and sales ledgers, manage month-end activities and drive improvements across systems and processes, while maintaining excellent service to colleagues and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Experience across purchase, sales and general ledger accounting.
• Experience supporting or developing others.
• Strong Excel and finance systems experience.
• Excellent organisation, communication and customer service skills.
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Ability to prioritise, work independently and meet deadlines.
• AAT, ACCA or CIMA studies are desirable, but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop two Finance Administrators.
• Oversee purchase ledger, sales ledger, payments, expenses and invoice approvals.
• Manage reconciliations, supplier statements, reporting and month-end activities.
• Support strong financial controls and accurate, timely reporting.
• Drive improvements across finance systems and processes.
• Provide excellent service to colleagues, customers and suppliers.
