Job summary

Henry Boot in Sheffield is seeking a Finance Team Leader to run the ledger function, oversee purchase and sales ledgers and treasury activities, and develop a team of Finance Assistants. You will ensure accurate, efficient financial processes and identify opportunities for improvement.

This role blends people leadership with hands-on finance operations, offering scope to influence day-to-day performance and longer‑term financial outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience within a purchase ledger, sales ledger or wider finance operations environment.
• Previous experience managing, supervising or supporting a team.
• Strong Excel and financial systems experience.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• A proactive approach to problem solving and process improvement.
• The ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment and manage competing priorities.
• AAT qualification, experience of Business Central and knowledge of the construction industry or CIS would be advantageous, but are not essential.

• Leading, supporting and developing the ledger team
• Driving high standards of accuracy and financial control
• Monitoring performance through KPIs and helping the team achieve its objectives
