About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a teaching-focused Lecturer in Project Management, Technology Management or Systems Engineering. Applicants should have a strong background in project management or systems engineering.

The Department is family-friendly and welcomes applications from individuals seeking part-time or flexible working arrangements, subject to operational requirements. The Department has been awarded the Institute of Physics Juno Practitioner. The aim of Project Juno is to recognize and reward physics departments, schools, institutes, and organizations that demonstrate actions to address gender equality in physics and promote better practices for all staff. Teaching is primarily face-to-face in London, with occasional sessions elsewhere. Staff can work in a hybrid mode, spending approximately 2 days per week in the London office.

Main responsibilities

  • Provide Master’s-level teaching and workshops in project management, technology management, or systems engineering for academic programs (including apprenticeships) at UCL in London and the South East;
  • Support other teaching activities in these fields in the South East and occasionally elsewhere;
  • Supervise Master’s level student research projects within these fields.

About you

The ideal candidate will hold a doctorate, preferably related to project management, technology management, or systems engineering, or possess equivalent experience. Expertise and experience in these fields are essential.

Experience in engaging with or contributing to the scholarship of teaching and learning, including through presentations, publications, or other dissemination methods, is desirable. Teaching qualifications, Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (Advance HE), and experience in training apprentices are also advantageous.
