Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week

Contract Type: Permanent – Full Time

About The Role

We are currently seeking a Lecturer in Sport to join our Sport, Public Service and Travel department at The Bedford College Group. As a Lecturer, you will play an important role in the success of our students through:

  • Preparing, delivering, and assessing subject specialisms; supporting and guiding students; managing learning; undertaking course administration; contributing to curriculum and teaching innovations; participating in marketing activities.
  • Teaching effectively across programmes; preparing schemes of work; developing and implementing learning materials; assessing students' work; monitoring and recording progress; preparing reports; extending learning through vocational opportunities.
  • Ensuring engaging learning environments; upholding Student Code of Conduct; overseeing tutors and assistants; completing administrative tasks; participating in course team meetings; implementing quality processes.
  • Participating in marketing activities; interviewing potential students; contributing to curriculum development; developing new courses; promoting and safeguarding welfare; carrying out additional duties as requested.
  • Promoting safeguarding, equality and diversity, health and safety; participating in training and development.
About You
  • Qualifications: Degree in Sport or related subject; GCSEs in English and Maths; Certificate in Education or willingness to work towards it.
  • Experience: Successful experience in training, assessing, and education; recent experience in Sport industries; teaching and assessing; marking assessments; delivering group learning; using Microsoft Office; working with diverse backgrounds.
  • Skills: Ability to work in line with values (Student Focus, High Performance, Respect, Openness, Honesty); positive team contribution; promoting reputation; effective communication; supporting high-quality learning; creating welcoming environments; organizational skills; safeguarding responsibilities.
