About the role:

We are currently seeking a Lecturer in Sport to join our Sport, Public Service and Travel department at The Bedford College Group .

As a Lecturer, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

  • Overall Responsibilities - Prepare, deliver, and assess subject specialisms; support and guide students; manage learning; undertake course administration; contribute to curriculum and teaching innovations; participate in marketing activities.
  • Teaching Duties - Teach effectively across programmes; prepare schemes of work; develop and implement learning materials; assess students' work; monitor and record progress; prepare reports; extend learning through vocational opportunities.
  • Student Management - Ensure engaging learning environments; uphold Student Code of Conduct; oversee tutors and assistants; complete administrative tasks; participate in course team meetings; implement quality processes.
  • Marketing & Development - Participate in marketing activities; interview potential students; contribute to curriculum development; develop new courses; promote and safeguard welfare; carry out additional duties as requested.
  • Statutory Duties - Promote safeguarding, equality and diversity, health and safety; participate in training and development.

About you:

  • Qualifications - Degree in Sport or related subject; GCSEs in English and Maths; Certificate in Education or willingness to work towards it.
  • Experience - Successful experience in training, assessing, and education; recent experience in Sport industries; teaching and assessing; marking assessments; delivering group learning; using Microsoft Office; working with diverse backgrounds.
  • Skills - Ability to work in line with values (Student Focus, High Performance, Respect, Openness, Honesty); positive team contribution; promoting reputation; effective communication; supporting high-quality learning; creating welcoming environments; organisational skills; safeguarding responsibilities.
