Job summary

University of Exeter in Exeter invites applications for a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Advanced Practice (Education and Scholarship). This 0.4 FTE, permanent post supports MSc Advanced Practice and Degree Apprenticeship delivery, combining face-to-face and online teaching with programme leads to enhance student learning.

The successful candidate will hold PhD or near completion, work towards Associate Fellow of the HEA within two years, and demonstrate strong teaching across modules.

Qualifications

• Depth/breadth of specialist knowledge in health and social care to teach MSc Advanced Practice modules.
• Expected to achieve Associate Fellow of the HEA within two years of appointment and attend formal CPD.
• Senior Lecturer level requires a track record of excellent teaching across modules and levels.

• Contribute to design, development and delivery of modules or programmes at various levels.
• Provide academic leadership and seek funds for scholarly activities.

Salary details

Salary will be £43,482 pro rata on Grade F for the Lecturer level and from £51,753 pro rata on Grade G for the Senior Lecturer level, subject to knowledge, skills and experience.

The role

A 0.4 FTE position has become available for a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer to join our Advanced Practice team at the University of Exeter. This post is to support the delivery of our MSc Advanced Practice/Degree Apprenticeship Advanced Clinical Practice. The successful post holder will have a background in, or experience of, advanced practice and be a registered health professional. You will work with programme and module leads to support the student learning experience, using a range of approaches and modes of delivery, both face-to-face and online.

Advanced Practice programmes at the University of Exeter include the MSc Advanced Practice and Advanced Clinical Practice Degree Apprenticeship. We work closely with the programme team for the Practice Certificate in Independent and Supplementary Prescribing. There is a supportive team working environment and development opportunities will be offered to assist the successful candidates in their role.

About You

For a Senior Lecturer Post You Will

• Possess a depth or breadth of specialist knowledge demonstrated by a PhD or equivalent, of the core knowledge relating to health and social care in order to teach and support learning on MSc Advanced Practice modules.
• Have a consistent track record of excellent teaching across a variety of modules and levels within your discipline as might be expected of a very experienced HE Teacher.
• Contribute to the design, development and delivery a range of modules or programmes at various levels; applying innovative and appropriate teaching techniques; identifying sources of funding and securing funds for own scholarly activities and providing academic leadership to those working within programme areas.
