Job summary

University of Exeter is seeking a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer to join the Advanced Practice team to support MSc Advanced Practice modules. The role involves teaching, student mentoring and development of delivery methods across online and face-to-face settings.

The successful candidate will have a PhD or equivalent in health and social care, be a registered health professional and work with programme leads to support the student learning experience.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in health and social care to teach on MSc Advanced Practice modules.
• Be/aim to achieve Associate Fellow HEA within two years and attend related CPD.
• Registered health professional with background in advanced practice.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of MSc Advanced Practice modules, online and face-to-face.
• Collaborate with programme and module leads to enhance student learning.
• Contribute to curriculum design, development and scholarly activity within the programme.

About The Role

Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Advanced Practice(Education and Scholarship)

This 0.4 FTE post is available from October 2026 on a permanent basis.

Salary details

Salary will be £43,482 pro rata on Grade F for the Lecturer level and from £51,753 pro rata on Grade G for the Senior Lecturer level, subject to knowledge, skills and experience.

The role

A 0.4 FTE position has become available for a Lecturer or Senior Lecturerto join our Advanced Practice team at the University of Exeter.

This post is to support the delivery of our MScAdvanced Practice/Degree Apprenticeship Advanced Clinical Practice. Thesuccessful post holder will have a background in, or experience of, advancedpractice and be a registered health professional. You will work with programmeand module leads to support the student learning experience, using a range of approachesand modes of delivery, both face-to-face and online.

Advanced Practiceprogrammes at the University of Exeter include the MSc Advanced Practice andAdvanced Clinical Practice Degree Apprenticeship. We work closely with theprogramme team for the Practice Certificate in Independent and SupplementaryPrescribing. There is a supportive team working environment and developmentopportunities will be offered to assist the successful candidates in theirrole.

Aboutyou

For a Lecturer post you will:

• Possessa depth or breadth of specialist knowledge demonstrated by a PhD (Oornearing completion), or equivalent qualification/experience, of the coreknowledge relating to health and social care in order toteach and support learning on MSc Advanced Practice modules.
• Staffat this level are expected to achieve Associate Fellow of the HEA within twoyears of appointment (if not already achieved) and to attend formal CPDrelating to this. [KE1]

For a Senior Lecturer post you will:

• Possess a depth or breadth of specialist knowledge demonstrated by a PhD or equivalent, of the core knowledge relating to health and social care in order to teach and support learning on MSc Advanced Practice modules.
• Have a consistent track record of excellent teaching across a variety of modules and levels within your discipline as might be expected of a very experienced HE Teacher.
• Contribute to the design, development and delivery a range of modules or programmes at various levels; applying innovative and appropriate teaching techniques; identifying sources of funding and securing funds for own scholarly activities and providing academic leadership to those working within programme areas.
