Job summary

University of Exeter is seeking a Lecturer in Education and Psychology to support MSc Psychology Conversion (campus and online). The role includes teaching, evaluating modules and supervising student work, with a focus on delivering high-quality education in Education and Scholarship.

The post requires a PhD (or nearing completion) and a track record of excellent teaching. It is a 0.7FTE, part-time appointment in the School of Education, aligned with the university's standards and quality

About The Role

Lecturer in Education and Psychology (Education and Scholarship) part-time post at 0.7FTE is available from 2.11.26 till 31.10.27. Salary will be £43,482 per annum pro rata on Grade F subject to knowledge, skills and experience.

The Role

Faculty of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences; School of Education.

The post of Lecturer in Education and Psychology will primarily support the delivery of our MSc Psychology Conversion (campus) and MSc Psychology Conversion (online) programmes.

The post will include the following duties:

• Use appropriate teaching, learning support and assessment methods, supervise student projects and the academic elements of field trips, and, where appropriate, placements.
• Identify areas where current provision is in need of revision or improvement and contribute to the planning, design and development of objectives and material.
• Select appropriate assessment instruments and criteria, assess the work and progress of students by reference to the criteria and provide constructive feedback to students.
• Set, mark and assess work and examinations and provide feedback to students.
• Ensure that module design and delivery comply with the quality standards and regulations of the university and Faculty.

About you

For a Lecturer post you will:

• Possess sufficient breadth or depth of specialist and core knowledge in the discipline, demonstrated by a PhD (Options or nearing completion) or equivalent ininsert academic area to develop teaching programmes, and teach and support learning;
• Use a range of delivery techniques to enthuse and engage students;
• Participate in and develop external networks, for example, to contribute to student recruitment, secure student placements, facilitate outreach work, generate income, obtain consultancy projects, or build relationships for future activities;
• Will have evidence of excellent teaching identified by peer review and have made an impact at discipline programme level beyond their own teaching.
