Job summary

Barking & Dagenham College is seeking a Production and Performing Arts Lecturer to deliver engaging, inclusive sessions that develop practical literacy skills for work, study and life. You will tailor schemes of work and provide feedback to drive progress.

You should hold a recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed or equivalent) and have experience teaching Production and Performing Arts in Further Education, across levels, with an industry background.

• Experience teaching Production and Performing Arts within Further Education.
• The ability to teach across all levels and have industry background.
• Recent experience teaching Production and Performing Arts from entry-level through to Level 2 and Level 3.
• Strong understanding of inclusive teaching strategies.
• The ability to differentiate effectively for mixed-ability groups.
• Experience tracking and monitoring learner progress using digital systems.
• Strong administrative and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A commitment to safeguarding and learner wellbeing.

Responsibilities

As a Production and Performing Arts Lecturer , you will deliver engaging and inclusive sessions to learners, supporting them to develop practical literacy skills for work, further study and everyday life. You will:

• Develop engaging schemes of work tailored to learners with diverse starting points
• Use learner-centred teaching and assessment strategies to drive progress and achievement
• Provide clear, constructive feedback that builds confidence and promotes independence
• Monitor and track attendance, progress and achievement, implementing timely interventions where required
• Support learners with varying barriers to education, creating an inclusive and motivating classroom environment
• Contribute to curriculum development, ensuring provision remains relevant to employment and progression pathways
• Engage in continuous professional development to maintain up-to-date knowledge of education policies and practice
