Job summary

South Hampshire College Group is looking for a part-time Performing Arts Lecturer for 11 hours per week, focusing on delivering classroom and tutorial work. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a passionate, dedicated and skilled Performing Arts Lecturer. This is a fixed term, part time role, for 11 hours per week. Working days will be Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.

Duties
  • Classroom teaching, tutorial work and associated outreach duties, residential, open and distance learning courses and student placements
  • All associated organisational and administrative work, preparation and marking and appropriate student welfare and academic counselling responsibilities
  • Acting as a Personal Tutor to students as required and undertaking all of the associated duties including pastoral care support
  • Ensuring that students are informed of what is expected of them at every stage of their programme and that an awareness of what the programme involves is a feature of all reviews undertaken with students
  • Ensuring that appropriate assignments, tasks and activities are regularly set and assessed and that feedback is given to students in ways that will allow them to develop and achieve progression
Skills / Experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people at all ages and levels
  • Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines within a busy environment
  • Highly motivated professional with a range of industry experience and knowledge
Qualifications
  • Minimum GCSE Grade 4 /C or Equivalent Level 2 qualifications in Maths and English
  • Level 4 qualification in the relevant area of expertise (or commitment to achieving this in the required timeframe)
  • Level 5 Teaching qualification (or commitment to achieving this in the required timeframe)
Ideal Attributes

  • Previous teaching experience or has supported apprentices in the workplace
