Job description

Lecturer in Public Services – Bath College

Permanent contract, 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year.

Interview date 16 January 2026.

Department: SOC – Social Science.

Location: Bath, England.

Compensation: £30,348 – £40,015 per year.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high standards of teaching and learning and monitor assessment processes in accordance with awarding body requirements.
  • Deliver departmental requirements of core content that will support students to develop their knowledge, skills and behaviours.
  • Deliver on Level 1, 2, 3 and HE programmes as required by the demands of the curriculum, specifically on our L2 Criminology, L3 Uniformed Protective Services & L3 Criminology programmes.
  • Produce schemes of work, lesson plans, assessment plans, learning materials and any other related activities that impact on the effectiveness of learning.
  • Co‑ordinate and maintain records of formative and summative assessments of students’ learning carried out by the course team.
  • Communicate external examination entry and timetable arrangements to the course team and students.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English at Grade C or above.
  • Demonstrate broad knowledge of issues within the FE Sector.
  • Experience of working within a public service/crime prevention environment (i.e. police).
