Job summary

Bath College is seeking an experienced Lecturer in Hair to join the HAB - Hair and Beauty Team in Bath, England. The role is a permanent full-time position, 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. Unqualified salary ranges from £30,348.15 to £32,186.70; qualified lecturers may progress to £40,015.50.

Interview date 12 October. The post involves planning, delivering and evaluating teaching and learning for levels 1–3, coordinating recruitment and induction, and contributing to curriculum planning

Qualifications

• 5 years’ industry salon experience.
• A teaching qualification or willingness to work towards.
• Level 3 Hair qualification.
• Level 2 Barbering qualification.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high standards of teaching and learning and monitor assessment.
• Deliver and assess a broad range of Hair and Barbering programmes to diverse learners.
• Deliver departmental requirements of Core and additional programmes, including Functional Skills.

Description

Permanent contract, 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. Unqualified Lecturer Salary (P25-P27 £30,348.15 - £32,186.70). Qualified Lecturer Salary L5 and above (P27-P35 £32,186.70 - £40,015.50). Interview date: 12 October. Key Purpose - To plan, deliver and evaluate creative and innovative teaching and learning to learners from levels 1-3. To act as course/subject leader as deemed necessary. To adhere to and administrate Health and Safety policies and procedures. To assist in the coordination of recruitment, enrolment and induction of students. To contribute towards the planning and effective running of the curriculum and department. Key Responsibilities

• To deliver high standards of teaching and learning and to monitor assessment processes in accordance with examination requirements.
• To deliver, assess and internally verify on a broad range of Hair and Barbering programmes to a wide range of learners using appropriate teaching methods
• To deliver departmental requirements of Core and additional programmes this may include Functional Skills.
• Producing schemes of work, lesson plans, assessment plans, learning materials and any other related activities that impact on the effectiveness of learning.
• To co-ordinate and maintain records of formative and summative assessments of students’ learning carried out by the course team.
