Job summary

Macclesfield College's Macclesfield Campus invites applications for a plumbing tutor responsible for planning, delivering and assessing Plumbing programmes across levels 1 and 2. The post focuses on high-quality teaching to maximise learner retention and achievement, with CPD support to grow in the subject area.

You will engage with external bodies and employers, maintain up-to-date subject knowledge, and contribute to quality assurance to meet college and awarding body requirements.

The Role

Macclesfield Campus has an innovative vision in delivering high quality education to a wide range of learners. The post-holder will be involved in the marketing, planning, delivery, assessment and internal verification of the Plumbing programmes across a range of levels.

The main purpose of this post is to develop, improve, and deliver high quality, and effective teaching, learning and assessment, to maximise the retention and achievement of our students. The successful candidate will need to have experience in teaching Level 1 and Level 2 City and Guilds 8202 Plumbing technical qualification.

The post-holders existing excellent skills will be enhanced by the College’s continuous professional development programme.

Main Duties for this role include

• To plan teaching, learning and assessment for college programmes across a range of levels using the appropriate college format to ensure effective learning.
• To deliver teaching and learning to at least a consistently good or outstanding standard to achieve high success rates.
• To assess accurately learners’ work both formatively and summative against appropriate awarding body criteria to ensure learners achieve their qualifications.
• To comply with all college quality assurance procedures as prescribed by the Head of Quality to ensure the achievement of all internal and external audits.
• To liaise with external agencies, including validating bodies, employers and placement providers.
• To take personal and professional responsibility for keeping up-to-date in the subject area.
