Job summary

The University of Wolverhampton invites applications for a Lecturer in Midwifery to support the delivery and enhancement of pre- and post-registration midwifery courses and to contribute to the development of the School of Nursing and Midwifery.

You must be an NMC-registered midwife with strong CPD evidence; a PGCE will be pursued after appointment, with a master’s degree desirable and an interest in digital technology in health care.

Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and inspiring individual to join our thriving and highly committed midwifery team. You will be required to support the delivery and enhancement of our pre and post-registration midwifery courses and contribute to the ongoing development of the School of Nursing and Midwifery.

You will have a high level of insight into contemporary midwifery practice. Experience in practice-based education would be an advantage. Knowledge of contemporary policy and professional standards, as well as theories and concepts that underpin midwifery practice and education is essential. You must be registered as a midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and possess strong evidence of continuing professional development related to your current role.

You will be required to undertake a Postgraduate Certificate in Education following your appointment, if you do not already hold a relevant teaching qualification. A willingness to work towards a Master's degree which is subject related is also desirable. A specialist interest in the increasing influence of digital technology in health care would also be advantageous.
