onlyFE is seeking an enthusiastic ESOL Lecturer to join the team on a full‑time, fixed‑term basis for 2026/2027. You will deliver inclusive ESOL education for adult learners, from Foundation through Level 2, including employability qualifications.

The role involves planning engaging lessons, assessing progress, and supporting curriculum development. You must hold relevant teaching qualifications and demonstrate experience in ESOL and related areas.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging ESOL lessons for adult learners.

• Create supportive learning environments and monitor progress.
• Provide feedback and contribute to curriculum development.
• Collaborate with colleagues on assessment and quality assurance.

Job description

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated ESOL Lecturer to join our team on a full time, fixed term basis for the 2026/2027 academic year. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high quality, inclusive ESOL education for adult learners, supporting their progression from Foundation Level through to Level 2, including employability qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Play a key role within the ESOL team in planning, preparing and delivering innovative, engaging and inclusive ESOL lessons for adult learners
• Teach learners from Foundation Level to Level 2, including employability qualifications
• Create a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages progression and achievement
• Support learners to develop essential skills for work and everyday life
• Regularly assess learner progress and provide clear, constructive feedback
• Contribute to the design and delivery of effective lesson plans
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to support curriculum development and implementation
• Keep up to date with best practice and relevant legislation
• Promote continuous improvement through creative teaching strategies and learner feedback
• Uphold organisational standards and ensure an inclusive and supportive learning experience for all learners

Skills, Knowledge And Expertise

• An ESOL subject specialism or a willingness to work towards one
• A Certificate in Education or a Level 5 teaching qualification
• A recognised vocational qualification relevant to the subject area
• A background in teaching ESOL and Entry Level Maths
• Familiarity with delivering “Skills for Life” qualifications
• Competence in teaching Entry Level Functional Skills ICT
• Knowledge of internal and external quality assurance processes (IQA/EQA)

Teaching Qualifications & Salary Banding

To be eligible for our Qualified Lecturer salary banding (£31,837 - £48,160), you must hold one of the following teaching qualifications:

• DTTLS (Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
• Certificate in Education
• PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education)
• ProfGCE (Professional Graduate Certificate in Education)
• DET (Diploma in Education and Training)
• DiT (Diploma in Teaching) – if for a vocational subject

Not Accepted As Stand Alone Qualifications

• PTLLS (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
• CTLLS (Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
• CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults)
• SFHEA (Senior Fellowship)
• Masters in Education
• TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language)

If you do not hold one of the above qualifications, you will fall into our Unqualified Lecturer salary banding (£26,661 - £29,998).
