Job summary

Elizabeth School of London is seeking an Associate Lecturer/Lecturer in Accounting and Finance to teach across Foundation year and related programs on a full-time, on-site basis in Northampton. The role requires delivering high-quality teaching, developing materials, and assessing students within a supportive HE environment.

Applicants should hold a Master’s degree (and/or PhD) in a relevant field, with prior HEI lecturing experience and proficiency in Blackboard/VLEs and MS Teams/Zoom.

• Master's degree and/or a PhD in Accounting/Finance or a closely related discipline.
• Previous lecturing experience in higher education settings.
• Proficiency with Blackboard/VLEs and MS Teams/Zoom.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality teaching across Accounting and Finance within a Higher Education setting.
• Tutor students and offer support to help them achieve goals and progress to destinations.
• Develop module materials and Scheme of Work; contribute to course development and improvement.
• Deliver subject-specific sessions aligned with module learning outcomes and schemes.
• Coordinate with staff and students to ensure successful module delivery and assessment.

Purpose of the role

You will contribute to the delivery of various full-time programmes which are developed in partnership with renowned institutions such as St Mary's University Twickenham London, and others.

Main duties and responsibilities

• Provide high-quality teaching and learning across a range of programs within a Higher Education setting, particularly Foundation year.
• Tutor students, offering appropriate support to enable them to achieve their goals and progress to positive destinations.
• Contribute to the development and continual improvement of courses, coordinating effectively with both staff and students.
• Contribute to the production of module/unit-specific Scheme of Work.
• Develop module materials for each of the modules being undertaken.
• Provide/Deliver/Facilitate subject-specific sessions in line with the Learning Outcomes and syllabuses of modules.
• Deploy assessments appropriately as set out by the assessment team.
• Set out measures to understand the learning needs of students on their modules.
• Support students with timely formative feedback to the extent prescribed by each of the program specifications.
• Mark and provide summative feedback within the prescribed deadline published by the Assessment Team.
• Ensure that all expectations of the Programme Specification of respective Awarding Bodies and Universities under which modules are being taught.
• Produce appropriate module/unit reports.
• Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately with students from diverse background.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Requirements

• Master's degree and/or a PhD in the relevant area.
• Previous lecturing experience for similar courses at HEI level.
• Work in line with Blackboard / VLEs, MS Teams / Zoom.

Desirable Requirements

• Experience working in the industry of your subject.
• Teaching qualifications: PGCHE, MA in HE Practice, or FHEA, etc.
