Job summary

Bath College is seeking an experienced Engineering Lecturer to deliver a high-quality curriculum including classroom, workshop theory and practical teaching. The role encompasses pastoral support, teaching and assessment in line with the College’s quality expectations.

Bath College emphasises inclusivity and safeguarding; staff responsibilities include DBS checks and safeguarding duties. This is a fixed-term post until July 2027 with other benefits and CPD opportunities.

Qualifications

• Level 2 English and Maths (GCSE) or equivalent.
• Qualified to Level 3, or equivalent, in an Engineering discipline.
• TAQA Assessor Award (or willing to work towards)
• L5 Teaching Qualification (or willing to work towards)

Responsibilities

• To deliver high standards of teaching and learning and to monitor assessment processes in accordance with examination requirements.
• To deliver up to Level 4 Engineering standards and programmes using appropriate teaching methods.
• Plans of learning, lesson plans, assessment plans, learning materials and any other related activities that impact on the effectiveness of learning.
• Plan and deliver specialist sessions in acting using appropriate teaching methods whilst embedding the promotion of diversity within the Engineering industry and the College.
• To co-ordinate and maintain records of formative and summative assessments of students’ learning carried out by the course team.
• To work pro-actively to forward the success and vision of the department.

Job Purpose -

To work with the Head of School and Curriculum Team Leader to deliver a high-quality Engineering curriculum including classroom/workshop, theory and practical teaching. This role will include pastoral, teaching and assessing that meets with Bath College quality expectations.
