Job summary

Nescot is seeking a proactive Lecturer in Animal Management to deliver engaging teaching across Levels 1 to 5. The role requires a degree-level qualification in Animal Management and experience delivering and assessing Further Education programmes.

The successful candidate will teach a range of modules including animal behaviour, welfare and husbandry, with practical sessions on the Animal Care Unit. Commitment to inclusive teaching and campus delivery is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification in Animal Management or equivalent.
• Experience delivering and assessing on Further Education programmes.
• Experience with City & Guilds Technical study programmes is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver, and assess a variety of subjects including animal behaviour, husbandry, welfare, collections management and animal training.
• Monitor student attendance, set SMART targets and track assignment completion.
• Conduct classroom and practical based teaching, including sessions on the Animal Care Unit.
• Teach across Level 3 to Level 5 programmes including Extended Diploma, T Level Animal Management and Behaviour, Foundation Degree and Level 2 Certificate.
• Manage T Level courses with 1:1 student support, plan assessment periods, liaise with awarding bodies, support students through assessment.

What we are looking for:

• A proactive and experienced Lecturer in Animal Studies to deliver engaging and high-quality teaching across Levels 1 to 5
• Qualified at Degree level or equivalent in the field of Animal Management Previous experience of delivering and assessing on Further Education programmes
• Previous experience working and/or delivering on City & Guilds Technical study programmes is desirable

Duties / Responsibilities

• Planning, delivering, and assessing a variety of subjects, including animal behaviour, husbandry, welfare, collections management and animal training.
• Monitoring student attendance, setting SMART targets and tracking assignment completion.
• Classroom and practical based teaching and may include sessions on our Animal Care Unit
• Teach across a range of courses to include: Level Three Advanced Technical Extended Diploma, T Level Animal Management and Behaviour course, Foundation Degree in Animal Management and Welfare, Level 2 Technical Certificate and our Land-based certificate.
• Course management on the T level programme which will include, 1:1 responsibilities with students, planning assessment periods, liaising with awarding bodies and supporting students through assessment.
