Job summary

North East Surrey College of Technology (NESCOT) is seeking a dedicated English support tutor to assist students with GCSE English and Functional Skills. The role focuses on 1-1 and small group coaching to build confidence and improve exam performance.

The post requires dynamic, creative individuals with excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for helping young learners aged 16–18 achieve satisfactory progress. Term-time only, 36 weeks, with on-site campus facilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1-1 and small group support to students with English.
• Build student confidence.
• Use motivational learning techniques.
• Assess student performance and take actions to help improvement.
• Assist students with tasks and provide feedback to the teacher.
• Supervise classes during cover work when a lecturer is absent.

Duties/responsibilities

• Provide 1-1 and small group support to students with English


• Build student confidence


• Use motivational learning techniques


• Understand how well your students are performing and act to help them improve.


• Help students to complete their tasks, check they are working correctly and provide feedback to the teacher on their progress.


• Supervise classes whilst the class undertake cover work if a lecturer is off sick
