The Role

We are seeking an Engineering Lecturer to deliver high-quality, defence-aligned technical education and help develop provision in response to current and emerging industry needs. The role will suit an experienced lecturer or an engineering professional looking to bring current industry expertise into education. Relevant backgrounds could include mechanical or electrical engineering, fabrication and welding, advanced manufacturing, non‑destructive testing or other safety‑critical engineering environments. You will combine practical technical knowledge with engaging teaching to support learners into employment, apprenticeships and higher‑level study.

What Will You Bring To The Role

• Collaborating - Able to recognise how learners are responding to technical and practical teaching, adapt communication and support accordingly, and collaborate effectively with colleagues, employers and DTEC partners.
• Focused - Able to maintain high levels of concentration and attention to detail during practical teaching, assessment and workshop activity, particularly where safe working, precision and quality standards are critical.
• Problem-solving - Able to apply engineering knowledge to diagnose technical problems, critically evaluate information and develop logical solutions, while helping learners build the same problem‑solving capability.
• Interpreting - Able to interpret and apply quantitative engineering information such as measurements, calculations, tolerances, specifications and test results accurately within teaching, assessment and practical activity.
