Job summary

NESCOT is seeking a proactive Lecturer in Animal Studies to deliver engaging teaching across Levels 1 to 5, with degree-level or equivalent qualifications in Animal Management and FE teaching experience.

The role involves planning, delivering and assessing a range of subjects (animal behaviour, welfare, husbandry), monitoring attendance, supporting students through assessment, and teaching across courses including T Level and Foundation Degrees.

Qualifications

Degree-level or equivalent in Animal Management with experience delivering and assessing FE programmes.
Experience delivering and assessing FE programmes is required.
Desirable: experience with City & Guilds Technical study programmes.

Responsibilities

Plan, deliver, and assess a variety of subjects including animal behaviour, husbandry, welfare, collections management and animal training.
Monitor student attendance, set SMART targets and track assignment completion.
Deliver classroom and practical teaching, including sessions on the Animal Care Unit.
Teach across courses including Level 3 Advanced Technical Extended Diploma, T Level Animal Management and Behaviour, Foundation Degree in Animal Management and Welfare, Level 2 Technical Certificate and Land-based certificate.
Course management on the T Level programme including 1:1 student support, planning assessment periods, liaising with awarding bodies and supporting students through assessment.
