Job summary

University College London (UCL) is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Learning Technologist to support and improve digital education tools across the Digital Education team. The role focuses on ensuring effective use of learning technologies for staff and students, with opportunities to work across multiple services and initiatives.

You will contribute to training, develop support resources, and assist with projects that enhance the learning experience.

Qualifications

  • Experience delivering user support or customer-focused technical support.
  • Familiarity with virtual learning environments such as Moodle or similar platforms.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Collaborative approach to working with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Commitment to delivering an excellent user experience and inclusive learning.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line support for digital education platforms and services.
  • Assist staff and students in using learning technologies effectively.
  • Troubleshoot issues and escalate complex problems.
  • Create and maintain user documentation and knowledge base articles.
  • Support delivery of training sessions, workshops and demos.
  • Contribute to service improvement, testing, and user feedback activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across Digital Education, ISD and academic departments.
