Job summary

University College London (UCL) is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Learning Technologist to support and improve digital education tools across the Digital Education team. The role focuses on ensuring effective use of learning technologies for staff and students, with opportunities to work across multiple services and initiatives.

You will contribute to training, develop support resources, and assist with projects that enhance the learning experience.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering user support or customer-focused technical support.
• Familiarity with virtual learning environments such as Moodle or similar platforms.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and user-focused Assistant Learning Technologist to join the Digital Education team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in digital education. The successful candidate will support the delivery and continuous improvement of the digital tools and services that underpin teaching and learning across UCL.

The post sits within the Digital Education Support team but has a cross-functional remit, supporting a range of services, projects and initiatives delivered across the wider Digital Education team. This provides an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to multiple areas.

Working within a collaborative and experienced team, you will provide practical support and guidance to staff and students using a range of digital education technologies and services. You will contribute to training and development activities, create and maintain support resources, and assist with projects and service improvements that enhance the learning and teaching experience.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing first-line support for digital education platforms and services.
• Assistingstaff and students in the effective use of learning technologies.
• Troubleshooting issues and escalating more complex problems where appropriate.
• Creating and maintaininguser documentation, knowledge base articles, and support materials.
• Supporting the delivery of training sessions, workshops, and demonstrations.
• Contributing to service enhancement activities, testing, user feedback exercises, and project work.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues across Digital Education, Information Services, and academic departments.

About you
