Supervising learners on arrival at college, during lunchtimes and breaks and ensuring they leave the premises with due care

Learning Support Worker

Southwark College, part of NCG Group (a leading national provider of education and training) is looking to recruit a new Learning Support Worker. Based at Southwark College, close to Waterloo Station, the successful candidates will be part of a large team of Learning Support Workers. The post would be:

  • FTE 0.57 post, working term time only for 3 days a week, on Tuesday to Thursday from 9.00 am - 5pm

The Main Duties Of The Post Holders Would Be

  • In class support for learners with EHCPs, this would include note taking, prompting, assisting students with classroom tasks to access teaching, learning and assessment
  • Creating / adapting / using a range of resources and strategies to meet learners' needs including e-resources, assistive technology and adapted equipment
  • Supervising learners on arrival at college, during lunchtimes and breaks and ensuring they leave the premises with due care as required
  • Supporting learners off-site in learning and travelling contexts e.g. trips, travel training, work placements
  • Keeping records of learner needs, progress and the achievement of learning targets
