Job summary

The Cumberland is seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our inclusive, nurturing community. The role focuses on supervising and assisting pupils one-to-one and in small groups, supporting lesson plans, and promoting the wellbeing and development of every student.

Candidates should have Level 2/3 teaching assistant qualifications or equivalent, experience with children, safeguarding awareness, and the ability to use technology to support learning.

Qualifications

• Level 2/3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent.
• Experience working with children and supporting learning activities.
• Safeguarding training and first aid training within the last three years.
• Understanding of safeguarding and health and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning learning activities and preparing resources.
• Supervise pupils in teacher-led activities and explain instructions.
• Support English and Maths development for pupils from diverse backgrounds.
• Provide clerical and administrative support as required (photocopying, typing, filing).
• Attend meetings and training sessions to develop professionally.
