Working across Congleton and the surrounding areas in Cheshire can be diversified, meaning that we work with an assortment of primary schools and that we do have different requirements to suit.

Responsibilities of a Learning Support Practitioner:

  • Working with learners either 1-2-1 or in small groups.
  • Support learners to develop essential skills, build social connections, and engage actively in learning.
  • Managing challenging behaviour and engaging learners with their own learning.
  • Small group interventions and supporting children with a range of needs (SEND).
  • Committed to support both the teacher and the learners to succeed.

For this role, applicants who apply must have:

  • A minimum Level 2 or Level 3 Childcare/Early Years/Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • Have previous experience of working with children in a primary school or educational setting in the UK.
  • Hold confident communication skills and will be an excellent motivator in the classroom.

  • Be happy to travel and to be able to get to our partnership schools in Congleton(or the surrounding Cheshire areas)by 8.30am with sometimes only 30-60 minute's notice for our on the day supply requirements.
  • Have a good level of literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE English and Maths Grade 4 or Grade C and above/Functional Skills Level 2 in the minimum required).
  • Be familiar with the UK National Curriculum.
  • Own a current Enhanced DBS that is registered with the Update Service, or you will be prepared to apply for a new DBS with ourselves (cost applied).
