Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting a Learning Support Mentor for a full-time role at a welcoming Northumberland primary school, starting in September 2026. You will support pupils across EYFS to KS2 with academic, social and emotional needs and work closely with teachers to create engaging, inclusive learning experiences.

The role focuses on developing confidence, resilience and independent learning, with opportunities for CPD and ongoing support from an education consultant.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in a school, nursery, childcare or youth setting is desirable.
• A patient, caring and proactive approach.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues.
• Passionate about making a positive difference in children's education.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom-based support across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
• Deliver targeted interventions to individuals and small groups.
• Support pupils who require additional encouragement with their learning.
• Help develop children's confidence, resilience and independence.
• Work alongside teachers to monitor progress and adapt learning activities.
• Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a calm, inclusive classroom environment.
