Job summary

Milk Education is working with a welcoming primary school in Northumberland to recruit a dedicated Learning Support Mentor for a full-time role starting in September 2026.

You'll work closely with teachers to provide academic, social and emotional support throughout the school day, delivering targeted interventions and helping pupils build confidence, resilience and independence in a calm, inclusive setting.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in a school or childcare setting is desirable.
• Calm, patient and proactive approach.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues.
• Passionate about making a difference in children's education.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom-based support across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
• Deliver targeted interventions to individuals and small groups.
• Support pupils who require additional encouragement with their learning.
• Help develop children's confidence, resilience and independence.
• Work alongside teachers to monitor progress and adapt learning activities.
• Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a calm, inclusive classroom environment.
