Job summary

SCL in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking a dedicated learning support/teacher to help post-16 learners achieve their academic goals. You will support classroom learning, guide independent study and contribute to EHCP reviews where applicable.

The role requires experience with SEND, good English and maths, IT literacy, and strong communication. You will work across remote, classroom, 121 or on-site settings, with CPD opportunities and a supportive team.

Qualifications

Good level of English and Maths; willingness to achieve Functional Skills Level 2 in English & Maths within timeframe.
Experience working with learners with SEND; ability to support diverse needs.
IT literate with MS Office and Teams; ability to work to deadlines.
Strong communication and presentation skills, both oral and written.

Responsibilities

Deliver engaging learning to meet learner needs, including blended remote, classroom, 121 or on-site delivery.
Evidence progression against targets; support development of independent learning skills.
Provide wellbeing and pastoral support; assist with safeguarding and diversity training.
Create tailored support plans based on assessments and EHCP considerations.
Collaborate with delivery teams and stakeholders to ensure timely progression.
