Job summary

The Orpheus Centre in the United Kingdom is seeking Learning Support Care Assistants (LSCAs) to support learners aged 18–25 with learning difficulties and disabilities. You will work across educational, social and residential activities, promoting independence with dignity and inclusion.

Qualifications

• A caring, patient and positive approach.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to promoting independence, dignity and person-centred support.
• Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills.
• Level 2 or 3 qualification in Learning Support or Health and Social Care is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support learners in educational, social and independent living activities.
• Provide personal care and support intimate care needs with dignity and respect.
• Encourage development of communication, employability and life skills.
• Assist with daily living tasks such as meals, shopping and appointments.
• Support learners with off-site activities, work placements and community visits.
• Act as a positive role model and keyworker.
• Maintain accurate learner records and contribute to support plans.
• Support learners with manual handling where necessary.
