Job summary

Chairo Christian School in Pakenham is seeking Learning Support Assistants to support students with diverse learning needs in a warm, Christian environment. You will assist teachers, adapt resources, and help students engage in class, private study, and assessment tasks.

Term 1 start; commitment to the school’s Statement of Faith is valued. Applicants should possess relevant learning support qualifications or experience, strong interpersonal skills, and a collaborative approach.

Responsibilities

• Providing a godly example to students and fellow staff members through their practice, manner, relationships and general lifestyle
• Liaising with subject teachers about students and curriculum requirements
• Assisting students with special needs in the classroom and in private study, as well as exam or testing situations
• Maintaining appropriate records with regards to learning support activities and programs
• Attending camps and excursions with students if required
• Preparing resources to support student learning
• Providing general support to teachers in the classroom
• Providing feedback to the classroom teacher with regards to a student’s academic and social progress

Job description

Chairo Christian School is a non-denominational Christian school with 1,900 Kinder to Year 12 students attending five picturesque campuses in West and South Gippsland, the Latrobe Valley and the south-eastern outskirts of Melbourne.

We are currently seeking the services of Learning Support Assistants to work at our Pakenham campus, commencing in Term 1 next year.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a caring Christian environment and provide important assistance to the students and teaching staff in delivering high-quality care and Christian education to students requiring support for their specific learning needs.

Some key responsibilities will include the following:
