Warberry Church of England Academy, part of The Learning Academy Partnership, is seeking a Learning Support Assistant. You will work mainly in our nurture provision, supporting children with a range of needs, including ASC and SEMH, helping them access learning in a calm, structured environment.
You will collaborate with experienced staff to deliver targeted interventions, support communication and social skills, and promote emotional regulation.
Required as soon as possible
The Learning Academy Partnership has an exciting opportunity for a Learning Support Assistant to join our School Trust, based in Warberry Church of England Academy. In the heart of Torquay, our school is part of a vibrant community with all the natural beauty of the English Riviera nearby. Working in close partnership with our families, we passionately believe that every child should be taught by expert, high-quality teachers in an inspirational school that always puts children first. At Warberry, we pride ourselves on providing every child with a rich and engaging curriculum and extra-curricular activities that are grounded in our Christian values. Our vision is: ‘Roots to grow, fruit to flourish’
At Warberry, we believe that education is about more than lessons in a classroom - it’s about sparking curiosity, building confidence, and giving every child the best possible start in life.
We are looking for
A Learning Support Assistant to join us who is inspired by our mission and wants to be part of a Trust where children are at the heart of everything we do. This role is primarily based within our Nurture support-base provision and will involve supporting children with a range of additional needs. You will play a vital role in supporting and nurturing our children, including those with Special Educational Needs, helping to remove barriers to learning so every child can flourish. This role will be based predominantly within our nurturing specialist provision, supporting children with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and communication and interaction difficulties. Working alongside experienced staff, you will help to provide a calm, structured and highly supportive environment, delivering targeted interventions, promoting emotional regulation, developing social communication skills, and enabling children to access learning successfully. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about inclusive education and making a lasting difference to some of our most vulnerable learners.
Our ideal candidate will be committed to making a profound difference, particularly for our most disadvantaged children, empowering them with the knowledge, skills, confidence, and resilience they need to thrive. Experience with autism, speech and language development, and knowledge of phonics would also be an advantage, but not essential.
Our Trust is dedicated to building an authentic workforce, so if you are excited about this role but your past experience looks a little different to what we’ve identified, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may just be the perfect candidate! We are proud that we are a single organisation with a shared responsibility for all children, and one where you will feel professionally nourished through our extensive development practice and strong wellness offer.
Our School Trust is underpinned by our four core beliefs; we are stronger together, a sense of belonging; removing barriers and realising the possible. This means that by working collectively, we can achieve our absolute best to ensure that children, especially the most vulnerable, can flourish. Our ethos is one of working together to Empower, Excel, Together.
