Job summary

The Wyvern School in Ashford is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to help inspire and support pupils with learning difficulties. The role is term-time, 29.75 hours per week, with a pro rata salary and SEN allowance.

You will join a caring team dedicated to independence, respect, community, and happiness, with full induction and ongoing training. The post involves a physically demanding environment requiring staff who respond promptly to safety needs and who can work across multiple classes.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Learning Support Assistant or willingness to move into education.
  • Ability to respond promptly and proactively in dynamic classroom settings.
  • Willingness to undertake DBS checks and training as part of safeguarding.

Responsibilities

  • Support children with learning difficulties in day-to-day activities.
  • Assist in class with routines, resources, and behavior management.
  • Participate in induction, training, and ongoing support from onsite teams.

About the Role

Hours: 29.75 per week

  • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 9:00am – 3:15pm
  • Tuesday: 9:00am – 4:15pm
  • Term Time Only: 38 weeks + 5 Staff Training Days
  • Salary: Kent Scheme A – £17,103.46 (pro rata of £24,513 FTE)
  • SEN Allowance: £1,194 (pro rata of £1,485 FTE)
