Job summary

Rainham Village Primary School and Nursery is seeking Learning Support Assistants to support children with complex needs within our SEND bases. This fixed-term role starts 1 November 2026, runs until 31 August 2027, and is 32.5 hours per week during term time, 8:15am–3:15pm.

Candidates must have experience with SEND and neurodiverse learners. We value caring, patient, flexible team players with good communication skills who can work independently and as part of a supportive school team.

We are looking for kind, patient people to join our dedicated team of Learning Support Assistants to support children with complex needs within our SEND support bases. This position will initially be until 31st August 2027 and will be reviewed considering pupil mobility. Candidates must have experience of working with children with SEND. Experience of working with children who are neurodiverse is essential.

The role is for 32.5 hours per week, 8.15am to 3.15pm with 30 minutes lunchbreak - these times are non-negotiable.

We are looking for someone who is caring, has a positive outlook and can work both independently and as part of a team. If you have good communication skills, are friendly and resilient and have an aptitude for working with children who are neurodiverse then please contact us to visit our setting.

The School is a 2 form entry Primary School. We have our own Nursery provision. The School is well resourced and has a friendly supportive staff. We have enthusiastic, hard working children who enjoy learning. There is a strong partnership between governors, staff, parents, pupils and the local community.
