Job summary

Lighthouse Learning Trust in Gosport is seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our college team. The role focuses on supporting students with moderate and complex learning difficulties and disabilities, helping with their education and emotional well-being.

We offer term-time positions (37 weeks) in two vacancies, with 18 hours or 24 hours per week, and the roles are based on the Support Staff Spine Point 21 (£24,654 FTE). An Enhanced DBS check will be required.

Qualifications

• Grade C passes in English and maths (or equivalent).
• Significant knowledge of safeguarding and Prevent.
• Experience supporting students with SEND and/or SEMH.

Responsibilities

• Support students' education, emotional well-being and preparation for adulthood.
• Work with students aged 16-25 with SEND and/or SEMH within the college.
• Form a key part of the range of services to support learning and wellbeing.

We have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced and highly motivated Learning Support Assistant to join our team within the college.

The College provides specialist education and support for 200+ young people aged 16-25 with moderate and complex learning difficulties and disabilities.

In addition, we support students within our mainstream provision that have additional learning needs such as ASC, and/or social, emotional and mental health difficulties.

Working with students you will form a key part of the range of services to support their education, emotional well-being and preparation for adulthood.

Ideally, you should:

• Be well motivated, passionate and well organised


• Have significant knowledge of Safeguarding and Prevent


• Have prior experience of supporting students with SEND and/or SEMH

You will have:

• Have Grade C passes in English and maths, or equivalent

The successful candidate will be required to complete an Enhanced DBS Check.
