Job summary

Long Term Futures is seeking a compassionate Learning Support Assistant for a specialist college in Coventry. The role supports young people with learning disabilities and additional needs, with a path to a permanent contract for successful candidates.

DBS checks are required, and the role includes personal and intimate care duties while maintaining dignity and privacy. Working Monday to Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm, you will collaborate with teaching staff and the wider support team to enable learners

Qualifications

• Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities, SEND, or additional needs is essential.
• Experience in a specialist college, SEN school, care setting, or similar environment is advantageous.
• Comfortable providing personal and intimate care with respect for learners' dignity.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to learners with learning disabilities and additional needs.
• Assist learners to access educational activities tailored to their abilities and goals.
• Provide personal and intimate care when required, ensuring dignity and wellbeing.
• Promote independence and development of essential life skills.
• Support communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
